My current favorite bakery in town is The Little Tart Bakeshop. Sarah O’Brien (aka “The Little Tart”) makes the most exquisite blueberry buckles, peach galettes, chocolate caramel tarts, and a vast assortment of other goodies, using locally-sourced traditional ingredients (no high-fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated fats here!).
The Little Tart currently sells at the East Lake Farmers Market (on Saturdays) and the Emory University Farmers Market (on Tuesdays), and occasional special events. [Details on local markets.] Of course, scarcity only makes her products more valuable, but hopefully The Little Tart will be able to expand to more markets and/or storefronts in the near future. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for a red and white gingham tablecloth beneath a white tent at local farmers markets and if you spot The Little Tart stop by to try something spectacular.
